Alan Munshower currently serves as the Digital Collections Archivist at Virginia Tech Special Collections and University Archives. He previously was the Audio-Visual Curator at the University of Mississippi Archives and Special Collections, where he managed licensing of photographs and moving images. Alan was the Chair of the Copyright Committee for the Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA) from 2018-2020, and is now the Technical Coordinator for the Meetings Coordinating Committee of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference (MARAC). A Certified Archivist and graduate of the MLS program at the University of Maryland, his research interests include copyright, archival practice, music communities, and the American South.
